Project Diddums

Create an app that will enable small drone operators to know more about specific weather parameters, local terrain and no fly zones within a five-mile radius of their GPS location.

This app has 3 main requirements:

•Open Source

•Free

•Easily Accessible

To achieve this, Project Diddums will run on the Android operating system. Not only is this open source and free, but it is used by over 1.5 billion people. The app will output the data onto a map so drone operators can see any nearby dangers to their drone, and allow them to take necessary action

The Android application was developed in C# using Xamarin.

We used a web service (MySQL/PHP combination) for offloading of UK airspace/NOTAM scraping with hourly sync.
