Collect and develop geotagged information about local ties to space and aviation to incorporate within geo-based games/web applications/tools. Many apps and programs exist that allow users to input information about a location that corresponds to the real world. Public information and historical space events could be added to the location within the program. While exploring a new region, users can learning new facts about how the community played a role in new scientific discoveries or innovations in aviation or spaceflight.

Explanation

In order to answer the requirements, we adopted a social approach in the design phase of the solution. The first page the user encounters is the login page as well as a loaded map without any markers on it, as soon as the user logs in using his Github account, and further Facebook and Twitter account, he can access the map marked with different articles. Crowdsourcing was the obvious answer for getting the articles, as we adopted a wikipedia)like approach in order to engage the users to write articles about the history of the area as far as space discoveries are concerned. When the article is posted, people can interact with the article having three choices in hand: They can either approve, or maybe give their approval if they are not sure about the content of the article or disapprove. Then the system takes in the numerical values of each comment of the article and makes a judgement based on the number of people approving the article or not approving and also taking into consideration the 'Maybe' Section. This engages the users in a social interaction and research-based approach as far as the writing of article is concerned. Then every single article gets greened based on the number of approvals, or can be removed taking into consideration other factors. The other facet of the app is the quiz generation volet and the quick challenge pop up. Every 15 minutes, the app pops up a challenge about a random area and asks the user to take on that challenge as we will implement a point and ranking system later on. If the user is interested in testing his own knowledge about an area, he can take a true or false quiz based on the article written by another user and questions provided by that same user. We called SpaceTagUrA' standing for SpaceTag your Area in order to engage the user in a social experience coupled with a sense of curiosity being conveid to the user through different parts of the App.
