ASTEROID MINING

THE CHALLENGE: Asteroid Mining
Solar System

Develop an approach for characterizing the composition of asteroid for mining potential and a process for mining different compositions. Explore a possible division of labor involving different types of vehicles (e.g. sensor units, drilling units, power gathering and distribution, extracted resources handling and transferring). Consider solutions for moving said asteroids between different orbits and/or consequently make periodical adjustments to keep them in place. Analyze how your idea would cope in some of the given scenarios or outline a scheme of your own.

Explanation
  1. Our main aim in asteroid mining is to find whether there are any metals in asteroid which is not present in earth
  2. which may be stronger than platinum and powerful than uranium
  3. so we send a satellite into the space which scans every where so that it finds an asteroid
  4. Then it uses laser light to find out the distance between the satellite and asteroid and it also calculate the speed of an asteroid
  5. We cut a small part of the asteroid by using laser so that a piece of asteroid is seperated
  6. We send a machine by using solar energy as fuel it scans the seperated piece of asteroid by using XRD rays
  7. By using XRD rays we can find the metal component present in it
  8. If it is a rarest metal in earth then we can send it to earth and we can use it
  9. In this way we can study a lot about space
Resources Used
  1. solar plates
  2. laser
  3. XRD
