THE CHALLENGE: Asteroid Mining
Solar System

Develop an approach for characterizing the composition of asteroid for mining potential and a process for mining different compositions. Explore a possible division of labor involving different types of vehicles (e.g. sensor units, drilling units, power gathering and distribution, extracted resources handling and transferring). Consider solutions for moving said asteroids between different orbits and/or consequently make periodical adjustments to keep them in place. Analyze how your idea would cope in some of the given scenarios or outline a scheme of your own.

Explanation

Inspired by the rosette misión it is send a satellite into asteroids belt of located between mars and jupiter and scan the asteroids using spectrometer to detect the composition of asteroids

After scanning it is launch a marker probe to track the location and to do physical test of the composition of the asteroid and safe data in a database.

When an asteroid of interest we sent three probes to pin at positions x, y, and z of the asteroid and act as positioners to move it to a safe place and to process it.

there are a fair amount of trace elements that are economically valuable like gold, platinum and rhodium. A small 10-meter S-type asteroid contains about650,000 kg of metal, with about 50 kgin the form of rare metals like platinum and gold.

Originally the idea was generated to capture space junk and broken satellites a big problem for the Iss and the astronauts when they make a space walk and modified for the mining of asteroids.
