Space Station

Using multimedia resources found online, develop a virtual experience that would allow someone to experience a past or upcoming rocket launch as if they were observing it from a few miles away (i.e. a close, but safe distance from the launch pad). If possible, convey the impact that local/global/space weather has on a launch.

Explanation

The emergence of new private space companies have propelled Space launches to a next level. They are getting more and more attention from the public and pushing the boundaries of space technology further and further.

Current Web Apps broadcast live-streaming launches. For example, SpaceX provides a platform where you have a timeline of the spaceflight embedded within the live stream. The problem is that you can't interact with it easily. It also suffers from being dfficult to browse to a specific milestone or stage.

We take it to the next level by providing real interactive flight paths with synchronised multimedia content, such as real-time streaming or videos.

You can drag and drop the timeline and see the current rocket position update accordingly, with the video moving at the right time. Go back in time to see your favorite sequence and replay it easily over and over.

In the near future, our unique interactive experience will allow our users to drop social comments at their favorite time, directly onto the interactive timeline and interact with other viewers. More views will be provided, and close ups of critical stages (liftoff, landing) will be displayed. Detailed data (telemetry, weather) will be displayed as well.
