Out-of-this-world fashion with function: clothing or accessories for earth or space wear!

Every space traveler – even the robotic ones – should feel? their very best during the journey, infused with the very best data and technology available. Earthlings can follow suit. Design a space data-tech-fashion wearable in the form of clothing or accessories that will collect or distribute data and technology in the following categories:

Design for Interconnectivity (staying more connected to team, community, and tools)

  • enhance the work/life experience of humans and/or capabilities of robots  

Design for Health (biometrics, physical and emotional health, and/or environmental alerts)

  • maintain or improve the health and well-being of the human
  • provide early warning for unhealthy environmental factors (air quality, radiation, outgassing, temperature)

Design for Entertainment (sights, sounds, music, activity)

  • enhance the human experience whether during work or play
Explanation

We spotted 4 main problems may face the astronaut:

1- Flying objects may hit him at any time.

2-cosmic radiations may affect the electronics in the suit.

3-the air may get some impurities.

4-the heart rate may rise above or below the normal rate which may cause heart attacks.

So we thought in 4 solutions, here is our visualization of their implementation:

1-we are using heart rate sensors in the gloves to detect his heart rate and to transmit his health data to NASA and to warn the astronaut if the heart rate raised to a level higher or lower than normal rate by printing the heart rate data on the screen of the helmet.

2-we are using ultrasonic sensors on the backpack to warn him on the approaching of dangerous objects depending on the speed of that object and it will print the direction of the object and the distance between him and the object and its speed on the screen of the helmet.

3-radiation sensor on the backpack to detect cosmic radiations level and warn if above safety threshold.

4-air quality sensor to detect any air impurities.

All the data detected will be displayed on the astronaut’s helmet and sent to NASA through Wifi module .

In the future we will integrate the ultrasonic sensor to route the astronaut’s jet to send him to a safe area in case of approaching dangerous objects
