Octabrella

THE CHALLENGE: Origami Space Recycled
Technology

Design and model (virtually, with paper or 3D printed) the packaging of key mission components for size constrained spacecraft to minimize stowed volume, but maximize capabilities.

Explanation

We decided to start the project called Octabrella which is a special tool with an umbrella shape designed to be used in space in different situations as a tent with multitasking specialty.

Octabrella project aims to scout space with a multi and reusable tent with a very reliable and durable shape and materials enable Astronauts to camp in any place and any circumstances.

With Octabrella we will have an octagon which dimensions are 1.5X3.5 meters and after setting it up it will give us almost 300 cubic meters , this volume can be equipped for any requirement which is needed.

By Octabrella’s sphere on the top with needed electronics in it, we can have almost full analysis for the outside temperature weather pressure and such measures. This sphere also consists of a camera and other electrical devices needed.

On the bottom we have space for an openable solar sole which can be used as sole and as an electric producer when placed on Octabrella's arms, at the top.
