ENIGMA received a People's Choice Nomination.
Create an app that will enable small drone operators to know more about specific weather parameters, local terrain and no fly zones within a five-mile radius of their GPS location.
The idea for our project was to help the new or unexperienced drone users to ensure they stay compliant with their local rules and regulations because of the fact that the number of unintentional misuse of the unmanned drones is rapidly increasing which could represent potential danger to citizens or property. These types of misuses are commonly consistent of entering restricted air-space, unexpected crashes due to the weather conditions, photographing forbidden sites etc. So we as a team decided to create a solution in order to solve this type of a problem.
To fix all this inconvenience our team have created an application that is supported both in iOS ( 2 iOS apps) and Android called Enigma Drone also we have created a web-based application which has similar functions, but you don’t need to download anything to operate it and also it has an option to download our 3 apps (2 iOS and 1 Android) and it has a user friendly interface, that can be used by everyone, even children. With the use of Enigma Drone, you now can not only explore the earth, but you can as well explore the moon and the mars. There might be similar software to this, but we could trust the Enigma Drone in every aspect. The app is consistent of mix of solutions that would help to solve the issues related with the challenge we faced.
The first solution was related with fixing the weather conditions that were a major problem for the drone’s success. Even though it was a quite big challenge, we have managed to successfully implement our ideas into solutions.
The second solution is to provide information to the user about airports flights, temporary flight restrictions and prohibited or restricted airspace. These kind of information are crucial for security reasons, especially when drones fly near airports, they could cause damage to commercial flights where the damages could be catastrophic because the drone may damage the plane hull or engine.
Another solution is to increase the drone’s capability especially where the visibility conditions are poor in order for obstacles to be detected in a timely manner.
The final, and for us the most challenging solution was adopting the drone not only for flying on the earth, but instead the drone should be able to fly on the moon and on mars.
