THE CHALLENGE: Don’t Crash My Drone

Create an app that will enable small drone operators to know more about specific weather parameters, local terrain and no fly zones within a five-mile radius of their GPS location.


Keeping your Drone safe is tough, with no-fly zones and urban obstacles a constant hazard.

We decided to create Skynet, a social network of drone users that share real time environmental information. Skynet utilises IBM Watson Visual Recognition technology. It does this by learning what these hazards look like from aerial photographs taken by drones in the network and warns users of their existence.

Resources Used

We used Python Flask, Bootstrap and Skeleton CSS Framework in order to make the mock app.
