Develop an app or platform to crowd-source information for comparing changes in environmental factors, such as temperature, relative humidity, air pollution, with occurrence of symptoms of allergies and respiratory diseases. Create tools for public entry and grading of symptoms, including but not limited to cough, shortness of breath, wheezing, sneezing, nasal obstruction, itchy eyes; and geographic mapping of symptom frequency and intensity. Create a platform for comparison of symptom map with NASA provided data, with visualization options for web and/or smart phone.
We made an app that takes the symptoms of the user , gives a probable diagnose and tags the disease on a map.A heatmap is created from the disease data therefore making the viewers able to see areas with a lot of infected people. When a infected area is identified the app gives air quality data(air quality index, temperature, humidity etc...) , making it easy to see if recent changes in air quaity may have caused the mass infection. In order to provide tools that may even further help viewers of the app identify causes of mass infections,we used the NASA EOSDIS API making available to the user a wide variaty of maps showing different gasses, particles and other science parameters.Ideas on why a given mass infection has occurred can be shared in the comment sections of the app.
