AirSafe

THE CHALLENGE: Aircheck
Earth

Develop an app or platform to crowd-source information for comparing changes in environmental factors, such as temperature, relative humidity, air pollution, with occurrence of symptoms of allergies and respiratory diseases. Create tools for public entry and grading of symptoms, including but not limited to cough, shortness of breath, wheezing, sneezing, nasal obstruction, itchy eyes; and geographic mapping of symptom frequency and intensity. Create a platform for comparison of symptom map with NASA provided data, with visualization options for web and/or smart phone.

Explanation

Airsafe is a mobile application that can be used to check the air quality at a specific location and based on the information that is provided by openweathermap.org, the app decides if there are any risks of acquiring a disease due to the quality of air.

We are also currently working on a feature that allows an end-user to report diseases at a location which will be factored in to the results of a risk-check near the aforementioned location.

In the database done now, we have added the parameters to estimate disease rates as the fields but in the upgrade we are going to change it to the name of the diseases.

So a user at any place can submit by clicking the upload symptom button that he has got a particular disease and can update the database so that the following user could get to know about it.

When the disease symptoms are over , user can again edit the database.

At any random location, presence of a disease is estimated using the parameters given by openweathermap.org. We use the data given by them and filter the disease conditions. This is how the app works.

We are still working on it ! In the video,we have added only the basic functioning.
