Help pastoralist communities around the world preserve their livelihood, by providing them access to information and resources (e.g grass land, water, safe routes) to prepare and support their migration journey.
The objective of the project is to design a working prototype for a mobile application which provides pastoralists community with information on land monitoring: water availability, grassland, and assist communities in networking.
Coming from a third world country, Nepal, we still have a lot of pastoral communities who earn their living based on this. To help this community, we are developing an android application that provides information on grazing lands' availability, water resources and temperature information and such which help the pastoral community flourish their lifestyle in this digital age. Since much of their earning is also based on selling of the animal products, herbs, etc this application will assist them in leading their way towards their destination. This very concept can be extrapolated and be used to help similar communities all around the world.
We have used created an android app with very simple user interface with understandable icons for the pastoral community to navigate through the app and find out more information as per their interest.
