Green house project on Mars
There is a great deal of interest from national space agencies to go to the Moon and Mars. ESA wants to go to the Moon and establish a village there. NASA wants to go to Mars. Astronauts and Cosmonauts from all over the world are already living aboard the ISS. What can they do in their free time? It can’t be all about reading books or game play on computers. Think of new sports or games that could take into account the low gravity (e.g. a space lacrosse game, extreme basketball). What about real or virtual experiences involving the Apollo 11 landing site on the Moon? Or following the paths of Sojourner, Spirit or Curiosity on Mars using a form of cross-country skiing? Think of new ways for to astronauts to use their free time. To present your results develop an app that makes use of virtual reality tools.
Some of the impediments of the process to make Mars green and habitable are- it's lower temperature & atmospheric pressure, high amount of CO2, and it's less fertile soil. In Martian Atmosphere, our plants will face many difficulties to adjust. So to adjust the plants with Martian atmosphere, we can apply some ideas in a Green house.
As for lower temperature, a green house can keep a adjustable temperature in it.
As for too much CO2 in Mars.. Almost 95.97%, we can use some plants which can adjust under rough condition and absorb CO2 more then the other plants like Yellow poplar, Silver Maple, London Plain, pine(white, red, Hispaniola etc). Some plants can be used which produce more O2 than the others, like CAM plants, Oak, Maple etc.
As for soil, we have to mix Martian soil with our Earth's soil. As Martian soil is not as fertile as Earth's. Mixing together, Martian soil will inherit some of the useful characteristics of Earth's soil, like decomposing, and so fallen leaves from the plants will continuously be decomposed and Martian Soil will grow fertile.
Again, Mixing Martian Soil with Earth's will be good for the adjustment of the plants with the Martian Soil. Amount of Martian Soil Mixing has to be lower at first and continuously increased with the plants adjustment.
