There is a great deal of interest from national space agencies to go to the Moon and Mars. ESA wants to go to the Moon and establish a village there. NASA wants to go to Mars. Astronauts and Cosmonauts from all over the world are already living aboard the ISS. What can they do in their free time? It can’t be all about reading books or game play on computers. Think of new sports or games that could take into account the low gravity (e.g. a space lacrosse game, extreme basketball). What about real or virtual experiences involving the Apollo 11 landing site on the Moon? Or following the paths of Sojourner, Spirit or Curiosity on Mars using a form of cross-country skiing? Think of new ways for to astronauts to use their free time. To present your results develop an app that makes use of virtual reality tools.
Being an astronaut has been the dream of adults and children but to become so, the aspirants should have some physical and cognitive characteristics & traits; and to get them they should pass two long years of training, during these trainings they shall pass exhaustive physical trials such as pool trials, different latitudes exposition, etc. They should also pass scientific, in which they will learn diving techniques and the functions of the International Space Station. We need to think that the astronauts does not matter how far are they from Earth are still being humans that means that they could experiment some emotional situations, that they have not been capacitated for. The space travel also has bad consequences, for example sleep disorders, inmunologic system weakness, some muscular atrophy, bones erosion and others. Physically they can get attention fails, overstrain sensations, depressions, irritability, etc. Those effects are caused by the loneness in space, the culture strong diversity in ISS, but especially because the astronauts are separed from their families. Alter knowing that NASA does everything that is possible to avoid the physical dismisses but not many things for avoiding the mental dismisses we began questioning ourselves; Why does everybody just take care about the physical condition of astronauts, what about of their mental health?
With the purpose of solving the problems that we mentioned before we propose the MGT multifunctional gravity table that is a table that uses the principles of electromagnetism: This describes the interaction of charged particles with electric and magnetic fields. , constructed of electromagnets. an electromagnet is an artificial magnet consisting of an iron core at its purest way and is surrounded by a coil (coiled cable) by passing an electric current. By passing the current through a conductor wound on an iron core, it is achieved that the molecules that form the core are rearranged and align, taking the positive and negative of each molecule in the same direction load. The magnetic fields formed by all the molecules are added resulting in an attractive force with other magnets and metal when winding the cable and make the current pass objects, we are not doing but simulate what nature does with magnetite, albeit temporarily, since the stop circulating current, the molecules return to their original state and the attractiveness disappears. MGT uses several electromagnets to amplify the magnetic effect on the area of a board and so to attract the metallic ball. In the prototype we can see that we added tools to adapt the court and make a foosball or different games. So the crew can make physical activity fun and entertaining way, fraternizing and releasing tension. And this is how we not only care about technological innovations, but also for mental health, physical and emotional well-being of the people who represent us out of this planet, having efficient and optima missions but more important; happy people.
The idea of our project is to give astronauts a unique way in which they can have a time of relax and fun, recreating ground games during their expedition. Recent studies show that the crew in space often have both physical mismatches and psychological by the lack of entertainment and contact with others, taking this into account and that the average number of members in a crew is from 3 to 6 people, we´ve designed an entertainment system that modifies gravity, creating its own gravitational field similar to Earth´s.
