There is a great deal of interest from national space agencies to go to the Moon and Mars. ESA wants to go to the Moon and establish a village there. NASA wants to go to Mars. Astronauts and Cosmonauts from all over the world are already living aboard the ISS. What can they do in their free time? It can’t be all about reading books or game play on computers. Think of new sports or games that could take into account the low gravity (e.g. a space lacrosse game, extreme basketball). What about real or virtual experiences involving the Apollo 11 landing site on the Moon? Or following the paths of Sojourner, Spirit or Curiosity on Mars using a form of cross-country skiing? Think of new ways for to astronauts to use their free time. To present your results develop an app that makes use of virtual reality tools.
We believe that Cosmonauts and Astronauts have lots of free time in the space and during spaceflights. They spend their times on reading books and playing video games, which could be really monotone when repeated in a row. There are no many oppurtunities in the space so these people need to spend their times on new stuff and have fun. And there are some other certain exercises which these people must do. Since there is no gravity in the space, Astronauts and Cosmmonauts need to keep their bodies fresh. (e.g joints, bones, cardiovascular health). To do these both we created a game which is a fictional sport from “Harry Potter” known as “Quidditch” . There are people in the Earth practising this sport freely. But practising it fully is impossible in Earth’s conditions due to gravity. Quidditch is a sport which is played with two teams. 7 in one and 7 in the other. But since in the spacecraft there are no this many astronauts we have adapted this game in the conditions of the spacecraft.
Rules:
4 persons, 2 in each team.
1 holder who waits in the goalpost.
1 chaser who is supposed to score the goal.
It’s forbidden to use any other organs apart from hands.
The game is played with casual clothes.( tracksuits are recommended
To score the goal the attacking team must put the hexagon ball into the hexagon goalpost correctly.
The team who scores 10 goals gets the triumph.
Stuff used in the game:
One hexagon ball made from sponge (Ball’s dimension can change through the will of the players in condition of staying the same as the goalpost.
How is the game played
While one person is trying to score a goal to the rival goalpost the other one stays in front of their own goalpost to prevent the goal from the opponent. The game is played while flying in the spacecraft. If a person hits the ground attacking right goes to the opponent. The goalkeepers eyes must be closed with a bandage. If a foul occurs the attacking right goes to the opponent. Hitting the opponent results in foul.
