Develop an interactive app for children that uses smart phone and tablet sensory to locate the Moon (any time of the day, even below horizon), which unlocks current lunar data (phase, distance, etc), and then presents the user options for reading a "Moon" related story, view space agency photos and videos, and/or fun facts about the Moon. The goal of this challenge is edutainment and raising awareness about lunar missions around the world.

Explanation

AFTERMOON is an application that is designed for children to explore our moon, the only natural satellite of our earth, in order to ignite their exploration desire to the universe. Unlike the other astronomy application Google Sky Map or SkyView, which are focused on star finder, AFTERMOON is more interactive and children-oriented, with supporting VR technology.

When you start AFTERMOON, we will give you the direction to guide you to find our moon. If you focus on the moon, The real time data of our moon would be shown. Then, just fasten the seat belt, and we will give you a fancy journey to our moon. In the aircraft, a big screen would show you some lovely moon related stories. We have many landing points there on our moon, and you would notice there are some landing flags when you are near enough to the moon. Of course you can go to explore the other normally invisible side of our moon, by spining the moon around. Select one of the landing points, and read the description about this area and then make our incredible lunar soft landing. After landing, you can freely to walk on the surface of our moon. Immersing in the miraculous moon surface, do not forget to loop up to the sky, where is clearer and there are much more stars shown than on the earth. And, if you are lucky enough, you may meet the earth rise from the horizon of moon.
