Develop an interactive app for children that uses smart phone and tablet sensory to locate the Moon (any time of the day, even below horizon), which unlocks current lunar data (phase, distance, etc), and then presents the user options for reading a "Moon" related story, view space agency photos and videos, and/or fun facts about the Moon. The goal of this challenge is edutainment and raising awareness about lunar missions around the world.
Book-it-to-the-Moon is an app that is implemented for kids from the age of 6 - 12. Its main purpose is for it to be educational and entertaining. Book-it-to-the-Moon app has got some features like playing a quiz game about the moon story and the moon history, stars, planets, and how they affect us. Learners get points for correct answers and the more they answer correctly the more difficult the level gets. They can use the points to upgrade avatars and unlock other stages. There are also images and videos with some descriptions. Images must be educational with some labels on them.
The user should be able to see the current moon phase and its distance from Earth, its diameter and its Mass. Links are also available to books the user would be interested in reading. A lunar calender is for them to get to know about a range of different moon phases for every day. Learning from the calender, they will also learn to know or predict when the next full moon will be.
