MISSION MOON

Develop an interactive app for children that uses smart phone and tablet sensory to locate the Moon (any time of the day, even below horizon), which unlocks current lunar data (phase, distance, etc), and then presents the user options for reading a "Moon" related story, view space agency photos and videos, and/or fun facts about the Moon. The goal of this challenge is edutainment and raising awareness about lunar missions around the world.

MISSION MOON is an interactive book designed for earthlings ages 8-99! It aims to provide edutainment and raise awareness about lunar missions around the world. MISSION MOON has four sections full of fascinating facts, photos, audio, and even includes a quiz, to stimulate children’s interest in learning more about the Moon.

MISSIONS>>> Includes an interactive map of past lunar landing sites, authentic audio from Apollo 11’s mission to the moon, and interactive space agency photos that pop up with facts about the missions.

MOON FACTS>>> Five fun facts about the Moon, includes links to see the current phase of the Moon, and an interactive photo gallery including the Moon undergoing a lunar eclipse as seen from Nicaragua.

MOON STORY>>> An original story told from the Moon’s point of view. Includes links to locate the Moon (any time of the day), Moon phase, and time of rise and set. Links to learn about other planetary bodies like Mars and Pluto, Constellations, the Galaxy, and more. Includes a resource with other book titles about the Moon.

Enlaces para aprender sobre otros cuerpos planetarios como Marte y Plutón, constelaciones, la galaxia, y mucho más. Igualmente incluye un recurso con otros títulos de libros sobre la luna.
