Asteriod Detector

For this challenge, we invite you to become "virtual contributors" to the Asteroid Grand Challenge and develop a hypothetical method, concept note or simple prototype that demonstrates how Machine Learning could be used to help us avoid the same fate as the dinosaurs.

This solution uses computer vision to detect the presence, common morphology and closeness of asteroids to the earth, taking the earth's position as a target and asteroids as intruders, a careful report is generated from observed object to aid analysis and reduce false positives, as well as identifying already known asteroids by names and unkown ones by their features. Hence using an alert system and media enabled GUI to indicate level of closeness and observations.

For the implementation, A webcam was used via Java Programming language.
