For this challenge, we invite you to become "virtual contributors" to the Asteroid Grand Challenge and develop a hypothetical method, concept note or simple prototype that demonstrates how Machine Learning could be used to help us avoid the same fate as the dinosaurs.
NeoMosaic is a service for astronomers, amateurs and professionals, who like to check their pictures before send them with relative coordinates to the MiniPlanetCenter and to the NASA.
People could discover a new NEO (Near Earth Object) directly from him pc, and contribute to the online community to follow specific researches.
NeoMosaic uses machine learning algorithms to discover the known points on the sky map, retrieve a correlated photos at the same zoom and scale from the NASA Archive (as Image Mosaic Service and Astronometry.net), compare and extract anomalies.
At the end NeoMosaic explains if the photo contains or not a new NEO, and if not it classify him and automatically send all the information to the NASA database.
