VAR Space Onboard received a Global Nomination.
Using multimedia resources found online, develop a virtual experience that would allow someone to experience a past or upcoming rocket launch as if they were observing it from a few miles away (i.e. a close, but safe distance from the launch pad). If possible, convey the impact that local/global/space weather has on a launch.
The challenge is to create a solution to allow someone to experience a rocket launch, we have provided more. Astronaut is a unique profession in the world. People would like to experience the details from rocket launching to the astronaut life however this is an impossible mission for a common person. To experience the astronaut’s life, we have to go through those long trainings and you also need to be not only strong in physically and mentally but also well equipped with Knowledge. It is time consuming and expensive process. Traditional method of viewing Launch or space modules are online or tv where it’s not immersive at all.
The “VAR Space Onboard” allow user to virtually experience from rocket launch, the space till the astronaut’s life inside ISS module such as kibo, columbus, harmony and etc. For example, from the comfort of your home or anywhere you are.
We adopted the Augmented Reality and Virtual Reality technologies to bring you to a new level of experience. In the app, the ISS image is being scanned to start the holo visualization of the modules. Different virtual buttons are available for selection using eye gaze where upon activation the 360 video of the corresponding space experience can be view through the Google Cardboard.
