Buck Rogers aside, Mars is an interesting environment for out-of-this-world mobility options for an explorer. This challenge asks for the definition of a conceptual mobility solution to allow an astronaut to easily and rapidly explore Mars including overcoming obstacles such as cliffs, ravines and other difficult terrain. The solution should be person-portable and any means or source of propulsion be locally produced.

This challenge can be answered by:

  • producing an app to simulate your adventures in building your jet pack and flying around Mars;
  • produce an app that provides the local gravity, atmospheric conditions (density, weather, anything-else-of-interest) to help decide what is needed for your jet pack design;
  • perform a feasibility/conceptual study of an actual jet pack design that could use potential Mars fuel sources; or Design and Demonstrate a model scale jet pack using hardware.
Explanation

The jet pack needs energy source in the Mars to operate it and allow to the astronaut to use it to discover the Mars easily. So we make biochemistry system to generate fuel from CO2 that it presences in mars atmosphere by using artificial leaf & Ralstonia eutropha Bactria .At first, for first time to put h2o (water) inside the chamber of artificial leaf. The artificial leaf is consist of 3 layer of silicon solar cell, Cobalt-Phosphate cluster catalyst and NiNoZn Catalyst, The 3 layer of silicon solar cell starts to produce the electric energy from solar energy and this electric energy break out the water into hydrogen & oxygen , Cobalt-Phosphate cluster catalyst will help in combine the atoms of oxygen to produce oxygen molecules and NiNoZn Catalyst will help in combine the atoms of hydrogen to produce hydrogen molecules. Then the hydrogen gas to room of Ralstonia eutropha , . After that Ralstonia eutropha will take hydrogen gas and carbon dioxide gas from Mars atmosphere and it will make its biology cycle inside it by oxidizing H2 using oxygen-tolerant hydrogenases (H2ase) to generate reduced cofactors (e.g., NADPH) and ATP, and uses these to reduce CO2 to 3-phosphoglycerate (3PG) via the Calvin cycle. 3PG is then will be diverted in metabolically engineered Re2133-pEG12 into isopropanol. Then we will use this isopropanol in the jet pack engine as a fuel instead of gasoline and we will in the burning it the oxygen that we generate it in the first phase. water will be from the burning products , so we will use it to recycle process
