THE CHALLENGE: eMobile Pastoralism
Earth

Help pastoralist communities around the world preserve their livelihood, by providing them access to information and resources (e.g grass land, water, safe routes) to prepare and support their migration journey.

The objective of the project is to design a working prototype for a mobile application which provides pastoralists community with information on land monitoring: water availability, grassland, and assist communities in networking.

Explanation

Due to the decreasing number of shepards it would be really important to keep them updated. Our app will allow them to share data between them and take advantage of the known data (Both from other one´s data and from the NASA´s database).

It consists in three main parts:

  • Social: There is a social network in where a person can share opinions, create posts and communicate with others.
  • Functional: The device collects data like heigth, preassure and temperature, and uploads it to a data base. The aplication crosses the data with the NASA's database and generates a prediction of the weather and the quality of pastures.
  • Security: You can use it to notify that you have been stolen/there is any danger to the nearest police station.
