Avanautrice — A game that puts women's achievements front and centre

Earth

Collect and develop geotagged information about local ties to space and aviation to incorporate within geo-based games/web applications/tools. Many apps and programs exist that allow users to input information about a location that corresponds to the real world. Public information and historical space events could be added to the location within the program. While exploring a new region, users can learning new facts about how the community played a role in new scientific discoveries or innovations in aviation or spaceflight.

Explanation

Creating a web-based geolocation game to enable the education of children on the achievements of women in space and aviation. It's time to normalise talking about women's achievements, so we believe the best way to kickstart is to have fun and play while you learn.

What can you do in the game?

  • Explore the world based on where history occurred.
  • Learning pieces of lost history of women's innovation and achievements
  • Discover the nearest break-through of history by women at your own space
  • Expand your aviation and astronaut training knowledge with fun challenges

We see this game as a history learning tool, breaking the stereotype of “history is boring”. Each and every one of these marvelous women laid a foundation for the advance of technology and science. By celebrating them, we encourage more children, especially girls to engage with science. Doing science is not easy but it is within reach, as all of these women were from different backgrounds. So next time when they ask “who do I want to be when I grow up?”, they would be inspired by these women in science.
