Space Station in the Future

THE CHALLENGE: Space Route 66
Journey to Mars

Develop a game or virtual reality experience that allows users to build and explore a futuristic spaceport. Potential utilizations that could be incorporated:

  • Horizontal and vertical launch and landing
  • Suborbital and orbital tourist facilities (hotels, crew training experiences, exploration theme park attractions)
  • On-site spacecraft manufacturing facilities
  • Processing facilities for space resources
Explanation

At first we take off from our spaceport with our Aeroplane carrying a rocket with 2 stages consisting of solid rocket booster and an ion propulsion engine powered by electricity taken in from solar power. The Aeroplane horizontally lifts off and gradually we start maneuvering our aeroplane to the vertical axis where we initiate our rocket carrying passengers and gradually our rocket goes back to the horizontal axis where it rendezvous with our space station and then we start docking with the space station. The Visitors are welcomed by robot assistants assigned for the group. The Visitors are free to explore the premises consisting of Hotels, Shopping Malls crew training experiences, exploration theme park attractions. The space station has a On-site space craft manufacturing facility as well as a Processing Lab of Space Resources followed by Earthly resources. Thus a player can learn about what it feels like inside a space station. After they are done exploring, The rocket that carried the Space Tourist are guided back to earth by being shot from the space station horizontally until it is on atmospheric entry. While re-entry we will initiate external boosters gradually with full thrust to avoid Atmospheric Burn thus we will be falling at a slower speed. The Rocket will gradually come to a vertical position and we will adjust the thrust to a level where we have a very smooth touch down.

Overall Innovation - We created our own futuristic space station and Spaceport along with our designed aeroplane that can hold an entire rocket in it.

Changing human's daily activities - It enables the players to explore and experience of traveling to a space station

Changing Human's Behavior - Gives the user an inspiring happiness.

Technology Innovation - We are introducing an Ion Propulsion Engine which is powered by solar energy to reduce the use of the Liquid Rocket Fuel. The Space Station is completely solar powered with two ports ( one of using electricity from direct sunlight while being on the sunny side in actual time and the other for storing extra electricity generated from the sunlight for later use when in the dark side of the orbit ). Also we included Vertical Landing .

The most innovating thing about this simulation game is that people all around the world can explore and experience the feeling of traveling to a space station just by siting from their desktop/laptop
