Foldable Hexagonal Habitats

Global Nominee

Foldable Hexagonal Habitats received a Global Nomination.

THE CHALLENGE: Origami Space Recycled
Technology

Design and model (virtually, with paper or 3D printed) the packaging of key mission components for size constrained spacecraft to minimize stowed volume, but maximize capabilities.

Explanation

We design habitats for astronauts in a unique shape which is the "hexagonal shape"

Hexagonal shape is one of the best shapes because it has a strong structure .

So, we use the Origami art of folding paper to make this habitats "foldable" when they combined in the rocket in order to reduce the space used ...

and then unfolded when they reach the target planet .
