Welcome to the NASA International Space Apps Challenge! This is the second time we are organized in Dhaka.. and most of you are new registrants this year, so we’re providing this guide to help you prepare for one of the most awesome space science events in Dhaka!
Space Apps Bangladesh is no ordinary hackathon!
You must hack on a project for the majority of the weekend. You should probably expect to spend around a minimum of 16 full hours over the course of the weekend working on a project. Everyone can contribute something, even if it’s just working on the final presentation and demo!
For the second time Bangladesh is going to be part of the NASA Space Apps Challenge 2016. This global event is going to be organized by National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA), with Bangladesh Association of Software and Information Services (BASIS) as the host organizer for the event in Bangladesh. The event is supported by BASIS Students’ Forum & cloudcamp Bangladesh and academic partners are Independent University, Bangladesh (For Dhaka), Chittagong Independent University (CIU) (For Chittagong) and Rajshahi University (For Rajshahi). Bagdoom.com, Pbazaar.com and PeopleNTech are the sponsors of the event.
The NASA Space Apps Challenge is going to be organized from April 22nd - 24th, 2016; simultaneously all over the world. Bangladesh will take part in it with the expectation of hundreds of teams solving different challenges from 6 major themes, as set by NASA. These are- Aeronautics, Space Station, Solar System, Technology, Earth, Journey to Mars. The Space App Challenge in Bangladesh will be organized in Dhaka, Rajshahi and Chittagong. This is a prominent event and the top teams will qualify for a final global event to be held in New York. It will be an opportunity for you to showcase your work and ability to the world. We are very hopeful that great innovative ideas will come out through the Bangladesh segment of the NASA Space Apps Challenge. We strongly believe that a team from your university can provide innovative and revolutionary solutions to the challenges and help the world to address them from a better perspective.
