Who can Participate?

Anyone with a broad range of skills can participate. We are looking for engineers, technologists, scientists, designers, artists, educators, students, entrepreneurs – anyone who has a passion for changing the world and is willing to contribute. We would like to encourage more female participation this year to showcase their talent and skills.

How to participate?

To participate, each individual has to register, create one's own account and join location - in our case, Kathmandu.

Judging Criteria

  • Impact: How much impact (quality and quantity) can this project have? Does it solve a big problem or a little problem?
  • Creativity: How creative is the approach? Is the project new and something that hasn’t been attempted before? Is it something that isn't being addressed by the market?
  • Product: How well does this project fit the needs of the challenge it addresses? How user friendly is the technology? Is it a complete solution or does it have a long way to go?
  • Sustainability: How good is the plan for next steps? How prepared is the project team to continue their work beyond the event? Is the project organized in a way so others can take the project to the next level?
  • Presentation: How well did the team communicate their project? Are they effective in telling the story of the project and why it is important?

9:30 - 9: 40 : Briefing schedule, do’s and dont’s logistics (Emcee)

9:45 - 10:15 : Sharing of idea and announcement for team members

10:20 am - 12: 00 pm : Development begins

12:00 pm - 12:45 pm : Lunch

12:45 pm - 5:00 pm : Development continues

5:00 pm - 5:30 pm : Hi - Tea break

5:30 pm - 6:30 pm : Development continues

4:00 pm - 5:45 pm : Presentation and Judges and audience Votes (Each team gets 4 minutes to present and demonstrate their product and 2 minutes for Q&A)

5:50 pm - 5:55 pm : Speech from Judge 1

5:55 pm - 6:00 pm : Speech from Judge 2

6:00 pm - 6:15 pm : Award Ceremony

6:15 pm - 6:20 pm : Thank you speech from YIPL

6:25 pm - 6:30 pm: Thank you speech from ICIMOD

6:30 pm - 6:35 pm: Thank you speech from AEPC

6:35 pm onward : Dinner and Networking
