Calling all hackers, hustlers, and hipsters! Can you code, design, make, create, think, innovate, or just interested in anything awesome, new or techy? We want you! Join us for the Melbourne chapter of the International Space Apps Challenge.

You can make anything! It can be code, hardware, artistic, whatever you like. As long as you have something to present on Sunday afternoon. It's not just about Space though, yes there are challenges around the Space Station, our Solar System, and the Mission to Mars, but problems also include aeronautics, Earth, and technology - the scope is massive! Get a chance to play with NASA's stuff, meet awesome people, build something really sweet in just one weekend, win awesome prizes, and get the chance to go and see a rocket launch with the NASA crew.

There's tonnes of prizes, small competitions, and fun things for this weekend. Be sure not to miss this epic event of 2016 as you get the chance to compete on a global scale.

Come as a team, or find awesome peeps on the day! There will be a great chance for networking before the hackathon starts.

Event Information

So you're keen? Awesome, register, and when it gets to the 22nd April, jump on a tram, get off at The University of Melbourne (Stop 1) and LAB-14 is just across the road - look for the neon sign.

There will be plenty of food and fuel for the weekend so don't worry about being nourished or not.

What you'll need to bring:

  • Laptop, monitor, mouse, keyboard, clay, paint, electricials, drawing paper, your creativiness - whatever you need to make your awesome idea... if you don't have an idea yet, make sure you bring your thinking cap
  • If you think you'll need a sleep, bring a pillow long
  • Showers are available for your convenience

7pm - Welcome, opening, keynote speaker
Movie night! Starts late, snacks included

Saturday, 23rd April

Breakfast in the morning
10am - Workshop
1pm - Lunch
4pm - Workshop
7pm - Dinner
Saturday evening - get your game on, there's gonna be some prizes up for grabs tonight (you might want to bring comfy clothes you can move in for this one)

Sunday 24th April

Some time in the morning - breakfast
12.30pm - Lunch
3pm - pitch starts!
Sunday evening - Go home feeling like winners

Snacks will be provided for the duration of the challenge =)
