For 48 hours across the world, problem solvers like you join us for NASA’s International Space Apps Challenge, one of the largest hackathons in the universe.
Empowered by open data, you collaborate with strangers, colleagues, friends, and family to solve perplexing challenges in new and unexpected ways -- from designing an interactive space glove to natural language processing to clean water mapping. Join us on our open data mission, and show us how you innovate.
Not Just For Coders
Beginners, students, experts, engineers, makers, artists, storytellers -- Space Apps is for you! We welcome all passionate problem solvers to participate! Why: Hackathon is an intensive development session, which in this case lasts for 48 hours. The goal is that your team will build solution to specific challenge. NASA provides the challenges and datasets you can use, if you will. But this event is not for the coders alone. You can come alone or with a team. We will get to know each other at the beginning of the hackathon, and we will help you to form teams. And we will guide you during the event. Hackathons are at their core about people.
Where: The event will be held in Design Centre MUOVA (Wolffintie 36 F 11, 65200 Vaasa).
When: Starting from Friday 22.4. 16:00 to Sunday 24.4. 16:00. That´s 48 hours. The place will be open during the whole event. You can come and go as you wish.
How: Register using the "Register" button. Then just show up! But remember to bring your own hardware with you (laptop, Arduinos, what ever you think you need), if you think that you need it. We have basic hobby materials you can use (paper, scissors etc.).
What else: If you have any questions, you can contact the main organizer jussi.loukiainen@muova.fi.
