The NASA Space Apps Challenge is a two day hackathon, taking place on the 23rd and 24th of April, which has participants from around the world to collaborate and develop solutions for challenges that support NASA’s mission directorates in six themes: Aeronautics, Space Station, Solar System, Technology, Earth and Journey to Mars.
NASA Open Innovation Initiative (also known as NASA Space Apps Challenge) encourages innovation, creativity and collaborative problem-solving by gathering coders, scientists, technologists, engineers, students, and entrepreneurs together for a 48 hour problem-solving marathon. The event is essentially a global brainstorming session for NASA where the most appropriate solutions to challenges may be developed further.
NASA educates and empowers engineers, scientists and students to acquire knowledge and skills by way of thinking boldly, taking initiative and acting globally.
